Next Step Solutions can provide a wide range of services to our customers from designing individual circuits and soft/firm-ware modules to undertaking whole product development based on abstract customer requirements.

All work is carried out under adherence to strict procedures ensuring high quality output. All documentation relevant to the work carried out is supplied to the client as a matter of course.

Electronics Hardware

  • Circuit Design / Scematic capture: Analogue, digital, mixed and microprocessor circuits designed to fulfil requirements.
  • PCB design / layout: We will design PCBs to customer specifications, from our own or customer provided circuit designs.
  • Circuit prototyping: We can arrange production of PCBs from in-house or externally produced designs. Our on-site facilities allow us to populate PTH and SMD based boards.
  • Testing: Rigorous testing of all produced circuitry is carried out at our facility to ensure compliance with requirements.
  • Fault-finding / addressing: We can take customer provided circuitry and trace faults, taking remedial action including re-working designs.

 

Software / Firmware

  • Embedded: Our software engineers have experience in coding for a number of embedded architectures including ATMEL AVR processors, 8051 family, PICs, Rabbit and more. 
  • Desktop OSs: From device drivers to GUIs, our programmers can produce software solutions for Linux, Wind0ws, MacOSX, BSD, etc.
  • Embedded & Realtime OSs: We work with a number of embedded and realtime OSs.
  • Languages: With broad experience in many languages, such as C, C++, Perl, Python, Ruby, etc, our engineers will use the right language for the job.
  • PLCs: We design for a variety of PLCs for indutrial process control applications.

 

Mechanical Hardware

We will design, source the production of and assemble hardware such as enclosures, switch / indicator panels, control / display (HMI) consoles, etc. including legending, styling, nameplating, etc.

 

Project Services

  • Conceptualisation: Often customers come to us with nothing more than ideas about what they'd like to be able to achieve. We can take these ideas and come up with innovative ways to turn them into reality.
  • Requirements definition: Successful projects are built on well defined requirements. We will work with our clients to ensure a set of requirements is produced which efficiently addresses their needs.
  • Design: Based on defined requirements, our engineers will design the hardware & software for high quality solutions using advanced computer aided development tools.
  • Implementation / Prototyping: Once a design has passed review, software will be implemented and hardware prototyped to allow assessment of the design.
  • Design Verification Testing: All hardware prototypes or software implementations are subjected to rigirous testing to ensure full adherence to the defined requirements.
  • Small scale production: For low volumes of hardware devices, NSS will arrange production of components by quality engineering companies and perform assembly and production testing on site.
